The largest ski resort in Canada and the highlight of Fernie's winter paradise is without a doubt the Fernie Ski Resort. This is some of the greatest skiing in the Rocky Mountains, with a tonne of ski-in/ski-out lodging options, dining options, and 140 runs. They offer green runs, blue runs, black runs, and even double blacks for those who want to travel really far, whether you're a novice or an expert.

Cross-country skiing is a fantastic winter pastime, and Fernie is a perfect spot to practise. Within a short drive of the village of Fernie are five sites with cross-country ski routes that have been groomed. Simply bring your own skis, hire some in town, or sign up for some lessons with the Fernie Nordic Society, which provide ski instruction to both adults and children.
