Mount Royal Park is the unofficial playground of Montreal’s Northern part of downtown. Being inaugurated in 1876, this park covers more than 692 acres. It’s a favorite spot among all locals and tourists that visit here all year round. What not can you do here, from jogging, skiing, picnic, and many more things. Some of its major attractions include Mount Royal Cross, Mount Royal Chalet, Beaver Lake, and Sir George Etienne Cartier Monument.

Near the Western exit of Mount Royal Park, you will find Saint Joseph’s Oratory. This Oratory is dedicated to Canada’s patron saint. This place is solely for pilgrims flaunting its Renaissance-style domed basilica dating back to 1924. Take a look at his pristine tomb which is a part of the sanctuary of the original chapel.
