After getting to know one another over a picnic lunch, explore Zion National Park's breathtaking vistas. The several self-guided walks that are available in the park, ranging from relaxing strolls along shaded pathways to something a bit more demanding, will be described to you by your leader.

Day 2: Bryce Canyon National Park / Page

Make sure your camera is ready to go when you leave for Bryce Canyon National Park this morning after breakfast because some of the sights you'll see there are simply out of this world. After a brief trip in your personal vehicle, enjoy the morning trekking amid the park's magnificent scenery. As you stroll around the canyon rim, take at the hundreds of distinctive sandstone spires, or hoodoos, which protrude from the surrounding natural amphitheatre. After taking in your stunning surroundings and relaxing while eating a picnic lunch, go down into the canyon to have a closer look at the interesting hoodoos. Proceed to Page, Arizona, where you will spend the night, then continue driving.

As you paddle over the water's surface in a kayak and weave around amazing rock formations, your captain will regale you with tales of the lake's past. Once back on dry land, take a leisurely stroll down Horseshoe Bend while admiring the breathtaking scenery. Retire for the evening to Page.

NOVEMBER & DECEMBER DEPARTURES: During these months we are often unable to kayak on Lake Powell. We will include a local slot canyon by foot when kayaking is not possible. This hike does involve soft sand, stairs, and ramps, best to wear closed-toe shoes.

Day 4: Monument Valley / Grand Canyon

Drive to Monument Valley, one of the most well-known locations in the world, to begin the day. It's hardly surprising if this scenery, which is littered with enormous sandstone buttes, appears familiar to you because Monument Valley has served as the backdrop for several well-known Western movies. The fact that this is Navajo Indian territory is more significant. A typical home-cooked, family-style Navajo lunch will be served after you transfer from your car to a 4X4 jeep and take a Navajo-led tour of Monument Valley. During this trip, you'll get the chance to learn more about the Navajo people's rich culture and history in the region. In time for a sunset along the rim, we carry on to the famous Grand Canyon!
