Airlines Baggage Fees
USA Airlines
All domestic airlines of the USA have separate baggage rules, usually based on either pieces or weight. Most U.S. airlines adhere to the piece concept, where your free allowance and fees depend mainly on the number of checked bags you are carrying. Most airlines in the USA charge you extra for checked bags, while carry-ons or hand luggage remain free of cost. Excess baggage includes extra fees.
Standard checked bags you are carrying on the flight must not exceed 62 linear inches (length + width + height) or be more than 50 pounds. Though it’s possible that you opt for heavier ones up to 70 pounds, by paying an overweight fee. If there are oversized items still under those weight and size limits, certain airlines permit you to add an extra bag for a fee, which is subject to availability and the airline’s specific policies.
The baggage fees are based on your cabin class of travel, your frequent flyer status, and the origin and destination of your flight. Therefore, they are subject to change. International Airlines
These often use a weight-based system instead; your free allowance and any fees are based on the total weight of your luggage.
