The Unsolved Mystery Of Flight MH370

March 10, 2023

On this day nine years ago, the world experienced one of the most inexplicable and heartbreaking aviation tragedies. On March 8, 2014,Airlines Flight disappeared into thin air, leaving a series of unresolved questions and indescribable grief. The families are still waiting for the justice and reconciliation which is due for a long time.

How The Events Unfolded?

A typical red-eye flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing marked the beginning of the mystery. On March 8, 2014, 42 minutes after the stroke of midnight, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, a Boeing 777 aircraft designated MH370, moved above into the moonlight night and made a northeast turn towards the South China Sea. Fariq Hamid, the first officer, was 27 years old and required one more training flight to get the full certification. Zaharie Ahmad Shah, the pilot in charge, was one of Malaysia Airlines' most experienced and well-respected pilots at the age of 53. They carried 227 passengers while overseeing a team of 10 Malaysian flight attendants. The majority of passengers were Chinese, along with 38 citizens of Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Taiwan, Iran, France, The US, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Russia, and the Netherlands.

The initial 40 minutes of the flight were uneventful. Around 1.19 am, MH370 was getting close to leaving behind Malaysian airspace. Ho Chi Minh was informed through radio by Malaysian air traffic control to pass the flight off. Zaharie said in response, “Good night. Malaysian three-seven-zero" The frequency was not repeated but it’s not abnormal. It was the last interaction recorded. Zaharie never contacted Vietnamese controllers to check-in. When MH370 entered Vietnamese airspace, it vanished from radar seconds later. All subsequent efforts to get in touch with it failed. Commercial aircraft are expected to be traceable and reachable all the, but in the case of MH370, it was gone.

Current Status Of The Whereabouts Of The Aircraft

9 years have passed since the tragedy but the mystery has only deepened further instead of any getting solved. The incident throws more questions than answers about the disappearance of the aircraft.

Malaysian investigation authorities have conducted many search operations but have yet to reach any definitive conclusion about the whereabouts of the flight MH370, but not have denied any possibilities of deliberate sabotage to take the aircraft off course.

Multiple Theories To Explain The Disappearance

The disappearance of MH370 has been explained by multiple theories, including pilot error, technical breakdown, and even terrorism. According to some theories, the plane may have been deliberately diverted by the flight's captain, raising questions about his intentions and mental state.

Demand For Justice By The Families

Families who have been impacted by the tragedy of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 are fighting for justice on behalf of their loved ones. They have asked Kuala Lumpur authorities to take steps to start a new search operation for the missing aircraft, according to a report on IANS.

The Malaysian government hired Ocean Infinity, the US based sea exploration company in 2018 to find the hereabouts of the aircraft in the Southern Indian Ocean. Up to $70 million was supposed to be paid by the government to the company if the search operation was successful. But, unfortunately it failed to deliver any satisfactory result so far.
